Online Live Video Course: Introduction to Black and White Film Development
In this laboratory course you will learn everything you need to be able to develop black and white films independently afterwards.
Since it is a purely online course, you can book it from anywhere.
Course content:
- Market overview and differences between available film types
 - Choosing the right film for every occasion
 - Choosing the right developer
 - Advice for film development in the home lab
 -  Practical development of your own film
 
Please prepare for the course date:
-  an exposed black and white film (not Ilford XP2 or Kodak BW 400CN!)
 - For courses without our starter set: Accessories equivalent to or comparable to the contents of our set are required. We are happy to advise you beforehand.
 - Computer with camera for video calls (Zoom or Google Meets)
 - Other accessories: Scissors, distilled water (1L)
 - Option to hang films to dry (e.g. clothesline over the bathtub)
 
Course instructor: Marc Stache
Founder of Edition Argentum, and author of "Analog Photography & Development: Your Own Darkroom" and "Analog Photography: Creative Techniques for the Darkroom".
Starter Set
 To complement the workshop, you can order a starter kit containing essential equipment for black and white film development. We will also be using the same accessories in our workshop presentation.
 The starter kit will be sent to you as a package before the agreed course date.
The following is included:
- JOBO developing tank for 1x 35mm film
 - Film developer and fixer for approximately 3 films
 - Wetting agent
 - Test film for practicing rewinding.
 - Film retriever
 - 1 pair of film clips
 - lightproof film changing bag
 - Measuring cup 400ml
 - Measurements: 5ml, 50ml, 100ml
 - 1x Laboratory thermometer
 - 1x wide-mouth bottle 1L
 - 1 pair of cotton gloves (size upon request)
 - 1 pair of chemical-resistant disposable gloves (size upon request)
 - 3x glassine negative sleeves
 
Additionally, the following will be needed
- Scissors
 - distilled water (1L)
